Morocco Post \ Washington, DC

Hundreds of Sahrawis belonging to the famous tribe “Rguibat Al Ayaycha” started an open demonstration (sit) front of the residence of the so called “leader” of the “Polisario” Mohamed Abdel-Aziz in the region of Raboni near Tindouf.

Abdi Ould slama Ould Nafaa an elder member of the tribe made a statement to the regional TV channel of Laatoune and confirmed that the protesters are demanding their resettlement in another country and the prosecution of the criminals and all those who caused the incident of Al Ayaycha  in 2006, insisting that this prosecution should respect the tribal traditional rules in making justice.

The same source added that the sit-in is to express the legitimate demands by the Sahrawi population to benefit from international aid granted the refugees who are detained and denied the right to leave the camps.

Abdi Ould slama Ould Nafaa invited the international human rights organizations to visit the camps of Tindouf in order to determine the reality of the human right abuses violations, marginalization and exclusion.

Laayoun Regional TV Channel confirmed that in the event of failure to respond to their demands the protesters will enter into an open-ended hunger strike in order to force and intervention of the international human rights organizations, United Nations Mission, “MINURSO” and the refugee’s relief organization, to find a solution to this situation.
